Also - remember that the box office is open on Saturdays of shows only…SOOOO, the box office is NOT open this Saturday, Jan. 12. Can you believe we don’t have a show going on that night!! I know - hard to believe huh! Anyway, we’ll be open right at 10:00 am on Monday morning so if you miss us this weekend, call bright and early Monday and we’ll take care of you! Have a great day.

Red Herring is billed an “uncommon noir comedy”. This blog is a great place for someone to explain what “noir” means! I know what it means but it’s hard to put into words…I bet Super Donna the Box Office Goddess could explain it to people!

“Box Office Goddess” - boy! I had no idea. I did google it and this is what google told me about “noir” comedies:
“Film noir is a loosely defined category that refers primarily to stylish Hollywood crime dramas, particularly those that emphasize moral ambiguity and sexual motivations.” Whew! At any rate, you get the idea. This is a crime show complete with bad guys who are really good guys that you just think are bad guys…lots of couples who like kissing, and the big twist is that it’s a comedy! I hope that helps.

The show opened last Friday night, and I was right! The show is really fun. And I’m not the only one who thinks so. Phil Grecian, reviewer for The Topeka Capital Journal said, “…the show is really, really funny. Hollinger (playwright) knows how to create marvelously absurd situations and fill them with witty dialogue… Guest Director Joanna Daffron knows when to pick up the pace as scenes follow one another at breakneck speed… This is a good cast.” So see - you DON’T WANT TO MISS OUT on this really great show. Tickets are still available so call today!!

Hey all - tickets are on sale now for an amazing show in the Oldfather Theatre - “The Women of Lockerbie” and they go on sale next Tuesday for “Macbeth”. Don’t forget - if you’re a night owl, the tickets are available 24-7 on this web page. It’s an AWESOME deal.
I also wanted to let you all know that our seating charts - for BOTH performance spaces - are in the local phone book. Did you know that? Put a sticky note on that page so you have it handy when you call in. The seating charts can be found in the Community Living pages (the pages trimmed in a purple/magenta color in FRONT of the yellow pages) on Page 4. It’s a super good chart and it will help you choose the seat of your choice.
Talk to you later!
